Magnitude 5.6 quake strikes western Turkey’s province

SANAA, March 20 (YPA) – A powerful earthquake measuring 5.6 degrees on the Richter scale hit on Wednesday  Denizli province, western Turkey, the Turkish Observatory and Earthquake Research center reported.

The European Seismological Center reported that a strong earthquake measuring 6.4 degrees struck southwest of Turkey on Wednesday, according to Reuters.

The epicenter was about a depth of 10 kilometers and eight kilometers south of Ajbam town, the center said.

No damage or casualties have been reported so far.
