Deputy Interior Minister meets with Head of ICRC mission in Yemen

SANAA, Feb. 23 (YPA) – Deputy Interior Minister Major General Abdulhakim al-Khiwani discussed with the Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) mission in Yemen Franz Rauchenstein the issues related to the mission’s work and its role with regard to the prisoners file.

In the meeting, Maj. Gen. Al-Khaiwani affirmed that the Ministry of Interior would continue to provide facilities to the ICRC team in Yemen to be able to perform its role to the fullest.

He pointed to the stability of the security situation in the provinces and areas managed by the Supreme Political Council and no concerns on the team.

Head of the ICRC mission thanked the ministry and the security services for their cooperation with the mission to facilitate its movements, indicating to the nature of the ICRC’s humanitarian and neutral role.
