Nigerian president’s supporters killed in rally stampede

SANAA, Feb. 13 (YPA) – Several people were killed in a stampede during an electoral rally in support of the President, days before the election to win a second term, local officials from the Nigerian president’s party Mohammed Buhari reported on Tuesday.

The incident took place at a stadium in the southern city of Port Harcourt when the crowd surged towards a gate after President Buhari’s speech.

Nigeria’s presidential election is held on Saturday. The main rival of Buhari is the Businessman and Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar.
