Security Council receives British draft resolution on Yemen

SANAA, Nov. 19 (YPA) – The UN Security Council on Monday received a British draft resolution calling for a halt to the war in Yemen, according to Al Jazeera channel.
The channel said that the provisions of the British draft resolution on Yemen calls for the removal of any obstacles to entry aid within two weeks of adoption of the resolution,” adding that “the resolution calls on the international community to support funding and continued support for humanitarian operations.”
“The resolution calls on all parties to facilitate the flow of humanitarian aid, medicines and fuel,” The channel said, stressing on the need to “stop rocket attacks and aircraft against the countries of the region.”

The resolution called for an end to all attacks on densely populated areas in Yemen, calling for a cessation of hostilities in Hodeidah.
Britain distributed the draft resolution to members of the Security Council for discussion before announcing it in the coming days.
