Egyptian Parliament discusses new bill threatens half of teachers by prison

SANAA, Nov. 1 (YPA) – The Egyptian Parliament is debating a new bill to criminalize the giving of private lessons.

The bill allows more than half of Egypt’s teachers who are not enough to pay their salaries ranging from one thousand to two thousand pounds per month to be imprisoned.

Egyptian families spend 25 to 30 billion pounds a year on private lessons, equivalent to 40% of their spending on education, and the people countryside spend the most on education from the cities.
