24 bodies recovered from crashed plane: Indonesian authorities says

SANAA, Oct. 30 (YPA) – The Indonesian authorities announced on Tuesday that they had been able to recover 24 bodies of the crashed plane, which crashed into the sea on Monday, minutes after takeoff, with 188 passengers on board.

According to several local Indonesian media, said that search and rescue operations in the “Java” sea off the coast of the Krwang region of West Java province, resulted in the recovery of 24 bodies.

The media sources confirmed that the bodies of the victims were transferred to the police hospital in the capital, Jakarta.

The hospital director Musiyavak said that the bodies were torn to pieces and that one bag could be more than a victim.

On Tuesday, search and rescue teams are expected to continue their work through divers and other technicians to reach the fuselage, especially after reaching parts of it.

On Monday, the Civil Aviation Administration of Indonesia said in a statement that the plane had disappeared from the radar screens, lost contact with air traffic towers after takeoff.
