Yemen’s southern children recruited by UAE face unknown fate

SANAA, Aug. 28 (YPA) – Many families in the Yemeni southern provinces are demanding that the Saudi-led coalition forces disclose the fate of their missing children who are recruited by the UAE to fight in the western coast front.

“Children are recruited for sums of money by military leaders from the southern provinces to participate in fighting what they called Houthis in the western coast front,” said the family of the missing child Ahmed Abdulmuneim al-Abadi al-Hushabi, from al-Musaimeer district of Lahj province.

Al-Hushabi’s family said that they did not know anything about his fate.

The coalition forces recruit children from the southern provinces, exploiting their living conditions, which prompted many families to recruit their children in ranks of the UAE invasion forces in return for cash.

The UAE forces’ leaders deny their knowledge of anything about the fate of child soldiers when their relatives asked about them.
