UN Security council calls for credible investigation into Saudi airstrikes on Yemen’s children bus

SANAA, Aug. 11 (YPA) – The United Nations Security Council on Friday called for a credible and investigation into the horrific massacre committed by Saudi-led coalition aircraft against dozens of children in the Dahyan district of Saada province on Thursday morning.

British Ambassador Karen Pierce, who is president of the UN Security Council this month, said the council would hold talks with the United Nations and others to determine how the investigation would proceed.

The Secretary-General of the United Nations has called for an independent investigation into the attack on a bus carrying children in Saada.

The Security Council deeply concerned about the air strike and all recent attacks in Yemen.

The members of the Security Council met and heard a briefing by the Assistant Secretary-General on the recent attacks in Saada, resulting in large numbers of casualties, including children.

The members of the Security Council expressed serious concern over the attack as well as all recent attacks in Yemen, calling for a credible and transparent investigation and sent their condolences to the victims and their families, reaffirming that there is only a political solution to the conflict in Yemen.
