Powerful earthquake hits Yemen’s coasts

SANAA, July 15 (YPA) – A powerful earthquake of 6.2 magnitude on the Richter scale hit Yemeni coasts, the US Geological Survey (USGS) reported.

The earthquake is measuring 213 Km (112 miles) Struck at down on Sunday the northwest of Socotra Island in the Gulf of Aden.

Earthquick live said the center of the quake is 10 kilometers from the sea surface.

The quake which its strength exceeds over 6 degrees on the Richter scale, and it is classified as a powerful earthquake causes much damage in densely populated areas, according to Earthquake Cagnetiod.
