President Al-Mashat calls for improving performance in transport sector

SANAA, Nov. 24 (YPA) – President of the Supreme Political Council, Mahdi Al-Mashat, on Wednesday stressed the importance of redoubling efforts to improve the performance level in the transport sector, as it is one of the sectors related to the lives of citizens.

During his meeting with Transport Minister Amer Al-Marani, President Al-Mashat noted that the Saudi-led coalition has targeted air, land, and sea ports to increase the suffering of the Yemeni people and isolate them from the world.

He denounced the silence of the United Nations and the international community towards the destruction of the transport sector, referring to the international covenants and laws that criminalize targeting of airports and ports as civilian facilities providing services to citizens.

President Al-Mashat called on the United Nations to pressure the coalition countries, led by America, to lift the siege and open Sanaa International Airport so that thousands of patients can travel for treatment abroad as a humanitarian entitlement.

In the meeting, President Al-Mashat discussed with Al-Marani the workflow in the Transport Ministry, the level of implementation of its plans and programs for the current year, and the difficulties it faces.
