Hamdok: I have full freedom to choose the next government

KHARTUM, Nov. 22 (YPA) – Sudan’s Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok said on Sunday the political deal he signed with the military grants him complete freedom in forming a government of technocrats, Al Jazeera TV reported.

According to the deal, signed Sunday, the military will also release government officials and politicians arrested since the Oct. 25 coup.

He revealed that the new agreement was the product of many initiatives that had recently crystallized, and that building trust between the Sudanese parties needed clarity, seriousness and openness.

Hamdok said creating broad national consensus is a responsibility and a prerequisite for the success of the transition period.

He further stressed the release of all political prisoners, which is part of the agreement and will work to implement it sooner.
