Islah militants wage attack towards strategic areas of Lahj

LAHJ, Feb. 28 (YPA) – Islah militants backed Turkey waged on Friday an attack towards strategic areas of Yemen’s southern province of Lahj, according to sources.

The sources confirmed that the attck targeted the areas of Al-Saqia, Al-Mudharaba and Ras Al-Ara in Tur Al-Baha district.

According to the sources, the leader of the Islah Party, Hammoud Al-Mikhlafi, who lives in Turkey, mobilized his armed men in the camps of Yvers, Al-Wazi’iyyah, and the 4th Mountain Brigade, in Tur Al-Baha, in preparation for taking control of coastal area of Ras Al-Ara.

The sources indicated that Islah seek to obtain an outlet on the coast of the Red Sea, after the UAE-backed Tariq Saleh forces took control of Mocha port of Taiz, in an attempt to establish an independent province from Taiz.

Additionally, Turkey is pushing Mikhlafi leader’s militia to take control of Al-Mudharaba and Ras Al-Ara areas in Tur Al-Baha, which are close to Bab al-Mandab strait.
