U.S. holds Saudi Arabia responsible for exacerbation of Yemen crisis

SANAA, Jan. 28 (YPA) – The US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, has held Saudi Arabia responsible for the worsening humanitarian crisis in the world, referring to Yemen.

“We see that the campaign launched by Saudi Arabia has, according to many estimates, led to the devastating humanitarian crisis in the world,” Blinken said at a press conference on Wednesday evening.

Blinken called for providing humanitarian assistance to the Yemeni people, who desperately need it.

He added that the new US administration is currently reviewing the designation of the “Ansurllah group as a terrorist organization, according to Russia Today TV.

In conjunction with Blinken’s statements against the backdrop of the Yemen war, the administration of the new US President, Joe Biden, decided to temporarily stop some US arms sales to Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

The decision to suspend arms sales to the two countries includes a deal to supply precision munitions to Saudi Arabia and an agreement to supply the UAE with F-35 fifth-generation fighters jets.
