Yemen’s UN envoy expresses his concern about US attempt against AnsarAllah

SANAA, Jan. 14 (YPA) – The UN envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffiths, expressed on Thursday his concern about US move to designate AnsarAllah movement as a terrorist organization.

During his briefing to the Security Council, Griffiths affirmed that the negotiations for the joint declaration were frustrating and could not continue indefinitely.

“We fear that this designation will be bound to discourage efforts to bring the parties together, said in a series of tweets.”

he added, “I still believe that it is right to struggle towards achieving the proposals to include the joint declaration.”

Griffiths stressed the impotence of focusing by all parties to resume an inclusive political process that ends the war comprehensively.
“The road to peace in Yemen was never easy in the past, and I think it is now much more difficult.”

There will be a way to end all the tragedies Yemenis have suffered from and that peace is possible if a real will is found, he added.
