Islah militia smuggles oil derivatives in Shabwah

SHABWAH, Nov. 4 (YPA) – A recent report revealed an escalation in smuggling of oil derivatives in Shabwah province through the port of “Bir Ali” and the beaches of the province to the highest level by traders and figures loyal to the Islah Party abroad.

 

The report confirmed that the port of “Bir Ali” in Shabwah province, which is  under control of by militants of Islah turned into a safe passage way to smuggle oil derivatives, received weekly from one ship to two oil and diesel ships belonging to businessmen affiliated  with the party.

 

The report stated that oil vessels arriving successively on the orders of military commanders in Hadi government.

 

They sold them on the black market and these queitites are not subject to any technical procedures to ensure the safety of these shipments and their conformity to specifications.

 

The report noted that the frequency of the activity of smuggling oil shipments through the port of “Bir Ali” in the recent period has increased significantly to exceed the monthly cargo revenues of 10 20 million dollars.

It alos pointed out that smuggled oil is consumed in the southern provinces and sold at black market prices.

 

According to the report, quantities of oil are being smuggled into the northern provinces, which are suffering from a severe crisis due to the continued detention of oil derivatives ships by Saudi-led aggression and prevented their entry into the port of Hodeidah.
