CIA activities expand in Hadramout community

SANAA, Nov. 3 (YPA) – The American embassy confirmed on Monday that its activities increased among the civil community in Hadramout province, south of Yemen.

The US embassy to the Saudi-backed exiled Hadi government said on its Twitter that the embassy’s military attaché, Christopher Townsend, gave, via a television circuit, a detailed explanation in his lecture on the Yemeni women’s role in the US elections.

The US embassy considered that the lecture delivered by Townsend was part of a new women’s initiative to support women and girls in Yemen.

The move revealed the extent of direct communication between the CIA activity and the US military attaché carried out by Washington in Hadramout, through organizations working in Yemen.
This came after multiple visits by the American ambassador to the “Hadi government” to the city of Mukalla, the capital of Hadramout, and his meeting general directors of the executive offices and the local authority in the governorate, in a flagrant violation of diplomatic norms.

Al-Rayyan airport of the province has become an American military base, after being closed by the UAE forces in 2015.

The United States is seeking to achieve strategic objectives by controlling Hadramout, in order to enable it to cut the Silk Road, which is the new project of China and a number of countries to transfer trade between the East and the West.

The US rejects the project that lead to reducing its hegemony over global trade routes and dominate on most of the countries, such as Yemen, Egypt, and others.
