Activists call for demonstrations next Friday in Aden to denounce insecurity

ADEN, Oct. 17 (YPA) – Yemeni activists on social media have called on citizens in the southern port city of Aden to stage demonstrations next Friday to denounce the insecurity witnessed by the city.

The activists denounced the growth of kidnapping crimes in Aden, which mostly were against girls during the past two days. They also condemned the failures of the security services of “Hadi’s government.”

In a dangerous gesture, the activists called on the international community to send peacekeepers to the city of Aden as a result of what they described as the failure of the security services to impose security and stability.

They considered the upcoming demonstration a message to the world to save the citizens of Aden from death, chaos and violations taking place in the streets daily without deterrence.

It is worth noting that the city of Aden and the other occupied provinces are experiencing unprecedented insecurity state, amid the escalating assassinations and kidnappings against citizens, especially women and children.

The ‘Karama’ Center for Rights and Development has revealed that 283 kidnappings and enforced disappearances occurred in the occupied southern provinces, as well as 30 rape crimes involving women and children during the period from January 2019 to September 2020.
