Egypt expresses concern over Turkey’s moves, Muslims Brotherhood in Yemen

SANAA, July 21 (YPA) – Egypt has expressed its concern over the movements of the al-Islah party, Yemeni branch of Muslim brotherhood,  militia in the Taiz province, which borders Yemen’s west coast, and the military escalation in the  districts of  the al-Turbah  and al-Hujarya  a, coincided with Turkish military movements in the Gulf of Aden and Bab al-Mandab strait.

Yemeni political sources revealed that the visit of Head of “Hadi Government” Moeen Abdel Malik , which began on Monday, comes to reassure Egypt about concerns expressed in a letter delivered to coalition-backed government by the Egyptian ambassador in Riyadh.

The sources explained that the Egyptian ambassador, who is not resident in Yemen, met last week, in the Saudi capital Riyadh, with both the head of “Hadi government” and the speaker of his parliament and handed them a letter that led to the visit of Moeen to Cairo.

“Moeen Abdel Malik received an Egyptian letter expressing concern about the movements of General Ali Mohsen and the militia of the al-Islah Group on the west coast, in conjunction with Turkey’s moves in the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden and Bab al-Mandab,” according to the sources.

According to media reports from political sources in Riyadh, “the Egyptian letter contained a direct threat to Ali Mohsen and the militia of the al-Islah, as it endangers Egypt’s national security.”

“The Egyptian information indicated that Qatar had pushed a wing of the government of Moeen Abdel Malik to blow up the situation on the west coast of Yemen, specifically in Bab al-Mandab with Turkish support,” the sources said.

“The Egyptian authorities considered such intelligence information to be extremely dangerous as it meant opening a conflict front and a third threat to Egypt’s security, along with the politically inflamed and militarily flammable fronts,” the sources added.

“Our visit to Cairo comes to discuss ways of security coordination to strengthen the protection of maritime navigation in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait,” Moeen told said al-Ahram newspaper.

the Media affiliated to the Islah party (Brotherhood) and its activists launched attacks on social media  against Moeen’s visit to Egypt and the official celebration of the Egyptian media visit, which he described as “the critic of the Egyptian calls.”

Moeen Abdel Malek was received by  President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, the Prime Minister of Egypt, the Secretary of the Arab League, and the Egyptian media celebrated the visit.
