Latin America surpasses North America in number of deaths in Corona

SANAA, July 14 (YPA) – Statistics for Reuters showed that the number of new deaths from the Corona virus in Latin America on Monday exceeded its counterpart in North America for the first time since the start of the pandemic.
Latin America, according to the numbers calculated by “Reuters” based on the official data, recorded 146,680 deaths due to the infection of the Corona virus so far, compared with monitoring the 143847 cases in North America, which includes Canada and the United States.
The first confirmed cases of the disease were recorded in the Americas by a difference of days in late February, and first appeared in Canada, then the United States and Mexico.
Initially, the United States and Canada experienced an increase in the number of deaths due to the virus.
However, Latin America, and in particular Brazil, had great difficulties in containing the outbreak once it had moved out of high-end neighborhoods where casualties were usually those who traveled abroad.
The prevalence of poverty and informal employment and the deterioration of health care conditions, especially in remote areas, contributed to the spread of the disease on a larger scale.
