France estimates 6.7% of population will be infected with Corona virus

SANAA, July 10 (YPA) – France’s health authorities said on Friday that about 4.4 million people, or 6.7 percent of the mainland’s French population, have been infected with the Corona virus since mid-April.

The French National Public Health Authority said in its weekly update of the epidemic that the figure was estimated on the basis of an antibody test campaign.

France is one of the European countries most affected by Covid 19-, with 29,979 deaths recorded as of Thursday. A comprehensive closure was strictly enforced from mid-March to mid-May.

The agency warned that the number of confirmed cases is now rising again on mainland France, but it is still at a low level.
Studies have shown that compliance with many precautions, including avoiding shaking hands and sticking to a distance of at least one meter from others, is declining, despite the firmness of the obligation to wear masks.
