BAYDA, April 6 (YPA) – The Yemeni army forces and the popular committees on Monday fought fierce battles, during which they were able to control important military sites in Qaniya front, between Bayda and Marib provinces.
“The army forces and the committees took full control of Al-Bayyad Mountain in Qaniya district, after implementing a successful operation against Saudi-led coalition forces,” sources told Yemen Press Agency.
The operation came in response to an abortive infiltration by the coalition forces towards Afar junction to cut off the supply lines of the army and popular committees and then advance on the north of Qaniya front.
The coalition forces suffered heavy losses in troops and gear during the confrontations, the sources added.
