Earthquake of 4.6 magnitude hits Jordan

AMMAN, April 5 (YPA) – An earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale hit on Sunday Aqaba city, southern Jordan.

The Jordanian Earthquake Observatory Center said in a statement that the earthquake occurred at 08:05 am.

“The earthquake occurred 60 kilometers south of Aqaba, and eight kilometers below the surface of the earth,” said Mahmoud al-Qaryouti, head of the center.

It has not been announced yet whether the earthquake has caused material or human losses.
