Yemeni Hajjah city closes its markets, fearing Corona

HAJJAH, March 26 (YPA) – The local authority in Hajjah province, with the participation of the security services, on Thursday implemented a campaign to close down the city’s markets, as part of the precautionary measures to confront the Corona virus.

“The central market in Sawaiyla area, the old market, and Nusairiyah and Salbah markets were closed as part of the precautionary measures to prevent Corona virus in the province,” said Khaled al-Qaili, director of the public works office in the province.

Al-Qaili indicated that there is a set of measures that have been taken, including the distribution of vendors and selling stands to a number of squares in the city to be an alternative to those markets.

The Public Health and Population Office in the province began Wednesday a training program for medical screening teams that target quarantine sites in the province border entries.
