Deputy FM discusses with European ambassadors humanitarian action in Yemen

SANAA, Jan. 20 (YPA) – Deputy Foreign Minister Hussein al-Ezzi on Monday discussed with ambassadors of the European Union (EU), France and Netherlands to Yemen, who are currently visiting Sanaa, the course of humanitarian action and developments in the political process in Yemen.

In the meeting, al-Ezzi stressed the important role of donors in the path of humanitarian operations, in light of the worsening conditions experienced by the Yemeni people as a result of the brutal aggression.

Deputy Foreign Minister touched on government efforts to neutralize the national economy away from all forms of conflict in order to avoid causing further damage to citizens’ life.

He reaffirmed the government’s full support for the efforts and endeavors led by the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths.

During the meeting, the ambassadors emphasized the peace option and the importance of returning to the dialogue table as the only way out of the worsening situation in Yemen.

They confirmed their countries’ support for the humanitarian efforts aimed at alleviating the aggravating suffering of the Yemeni people.
