Gov’t meeting discusses providing oil derivatives, environmental threat of Safer tank

SANAA, Dec.14 (YPA) – A government meeting held on Saturday in Sanaa discussed the complementary role of the Ministries of Transport and Oil in providing oil derivatives, as well as the status of the floating oil tank “Safer”.

The meeting, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister for National Vision Affairs Mahmoud al-Junaid, touched on the environmental threat posed by the “Safer” floating tank in Ras Issa area of Hodeidah province, due to the Saudi-led coalition’s prevention of carrying out maintenance of the tank, which holds more than one million barrels of crude oil.

The meeting also dealt with the detention of the imported fuel vessels in the Red Sea by the coalition and preventing their entry to the port of Hodeidah, despite obtaining permits in advance.

In the meeting, al-Junaid praised the efforts of the two ministries to provide oil derivatives that meet the needs of the local market, despite the blockade imposed by the brutal aggression coalition.
