Human Rights Minister calls for position advocating humanity in Yemen

SANAA, Dec. 5 (YPA) – Human Rights Minister Aliya Faisal Abdullatif on Thursday called on the international community and concerned international organizations to register honorable position in advocating humanity and human rights in Yemen.

“This year, the Ministry will celebrate the International Human Rights Day, on December 10, in line with the humanitarian situation experienced by Yemenis in light of the continued aggression and siege and the spread of epidemic diseases that kill them,” Abdullatif said in a statement.

She explained that it is odd that the international laws and resolutions pertaining to the protection of human beings and the enormous statistics ignore these violations, including murder, starvation, displacement and all the inhuman practices of the aggression countries in Yemen.

“Yemenis are dying from lack of medicine, and more than 20 million people need food aid after they have fallen below the poverty line,” she said.

The minister continued: “What will the world say on International Human Rights Day; the human being in Yemen is dying by the bombing and siege that has tightened its restrictions on Sanaa airport and all the outlets and cutting off the salaries of state employees,” she said.
