Tribesmen stop Saudi reinforcement to enter Sarfit Port in Mahrah

MAHRAH, Oct. 10 (YPA) – Tribes in Mahrah province, in eastern Yemen, stopped Saudi military reinforcements and blocked their passage to Sarfit Port and closed it, local sources reported on Thursday.

According to the sources, tribesmen in Hawf prevented Saudi reinforcements from entering the city, in the context of widespread popular rejection of the Saudi presence in the province.

They also pointed out that the tribes themselves prevented the access of the reinforcement to the port of Sarfit.

Saudi forces continue to bring in military reinforcements to the province of Mahrah, which has been experiencing unprecedented tension in the last two years.

Escalating protests against the presence of Saudi forces, and control of airports and ports in the strategic province held.

The Saudi escalation comes days after Saudi soldiers attacked customs officials in Sarfit.
