UAE-backed council admits of receiving regional, international support to control Aden

ADEN, Aug. 18 (YPA) – Mohammad al-Afifi, vice president of the UAE’s Southern Transition Council has dropped a confession that the steps the STC took control of Aden were carried out with regional and international support.

“There are regional and international views in support of the recent resolution of the Southern Transitional Council, which was a reaction and support for the unprecedented southern popular boiling,” Mohammad al-Afifi said in an interview with Sputnik.

“As for the process of reaching out to other southern entities, the battle of the last five days in Aden confirmed that the basic rule is southern tolerance and reconciliation, many bet that the battle carried out by the transitional will not be resolved and will go into the unknown,” al-Afifi added

“But the reality confirmed that the convictions of the STC and other southern leaders that all southerners are on the basis of reconciliation and tolerance that they believe in and march on, as seen by the contained the events in the sort time and with the least losses,” he said.

The vice president noted that the southern issue is a well-defined and demanding issue, and the coalition entered Yemen many years before the entry of the coalition into Yemen.

“In addition, our choice is known: independence, the restoration of the state, and those who go with us in this direction welcome him, and those who have other theses will disagree completely with him.”

Regarding the southern transition council’s relationship with the UAE, Mohammad al-Afifi said: “Our strategic alliance is not only with the UAE, but with the countries of the region and other Arab and international countries.”
