Official spokesman: Saudi-led coalition escalation in Hodeidah is dangerous

SANAA, June 21 (YPA) – The official Spokesman for Ansarullah, Mohammed Abdel Salam, has said that the Saudi-led coalition is currently stepping up its attacks and violations of the Sweden agreement in Hodeidah province, through the launching of air strikes, conducting of reconnaissance missions and bombing of several residential areas on daily basis.

Abdul Salam held the coalition and its mercenaries responsible for all repercussions if they would continue this wrong and dangerous course. He pointed out that the Yemeni redeployment step from the ports of Hodeidah, following its responsibilities taken in Sweden, put the coalition to a real test of its honesty.

Abdul Salam added that the coalition, after signing the Sweden agreement, has continued to create justifications, lies, and accusations against Yemen.

“In order to move towards peace, we have begun to implement [the deal], unilaterally and with the testimony of the United Nations, but instead of this being a motive for the other party to implement the agreement, they have moved towards obstruction and escalation,” Abdul Salam said.

Abdul Salam renewed the Yemeni commitment to the Sweden agreement and its practical paths in the Hodeidah agreement, in accordance with the Joint Deployment Coordination Committee, while stressing that Yemen maintains right to retaliate against aggression.

He called on the United Nations to play its role and continue its required activity in earnest, as agreed upon and in accordance with the agreement of Sweden.
