Syria: More than 40,000 people return to eastern Ghouta

 

SANAA, April. 3 (YPA) –More than 40,000 civilians return to eastern Ghouta, head of the Russian Center for reconciliation in Syria, Yuri Yevtushenko, said.

“More than 40,000 people have returned to the eastern towns of al-Ghouta until today,” told Yuri Yevtushenko told reporters on Tuesday.

Yuri Yevtushenko added that Syrian government forces are clearing the newly liberated towns of Arbeen, Zamalek, Ein Tirma and Jubar from explosive devices and mines and the focusing on priority of reconstruct the Infrastructures and accelerate the return of the population to those areas.

In the past 24 hours, 2000 of rebel fighters and their families have left the town of Douma in eastern Ghouta, Yevtushenko said.
