Deputy leader of ISIS in Somalia killed in US airstrike

SANAA, April 16 (YPA) – The US Military command in Africa (AFRICOM)  announced the death of the deputy leader of ISIS in Somalia following an airstrike on Monday.

In a statement, the US Military command in Africa (AFRICOM) said it had launched an air raid on April 14 in the outskirts of the town of Hererio, Bari, in coordination with the Somali federal government, which resulted in the killing Abdulhakim Dhuqub in Somalia’s Puntland region.

Abdul Samad Mohammed Jalan, Puntland’s security minister, a semi-autonomous province in northeastern Somalia, said on Sunday that “the attack took place near Xiriiro in Bari region.”
