Palestinian killed by Israeli occupation near Ramallah

RAMALLAH, April 29 (YPA) – A Palestinian man was killed early Wednesday by Israeli gunfire during an Israeli army raid on the town of Silwad, east of Ramallah, in the occupied West Bank, Palestinian sources reported, citing medical officials.

The General Authority for Civil Affairs informed the Ministry of Health of the death of Abdul Halim Rawhi Abdul Halim Hammad, 37. He was shot by Israeli occupation forces during their incursion into the town.

Hammad’s body was subsequently withheld by the occupation army and taken away, according to the authority.

Local sources said the occupation forces stormed Hammad’s home, detained him while he was injured, and later announced his death. They also reported that his father was briefly detained before being released.

The sources added that the deceased was the father of a one-and-a-half-year-old child and the brother of Muhammad Hammad, who was killed by Israeli forces in 2021 and whose body is still being withheld.
