SEOUL, Nov. 05 (YPA) – The South Korean army announced that North Korea launched several short-range ballistic missiles on Tuesday morning towards the East Sea, also known as the Sea of Japan, east of the Korean Peninsula.
This missile test comes days after Pyongyang announced that it had tested an intercontinental ballistic missile, in a development condemned by South Korea, the United States, and Japan, and the three countries responded to it with joint military maneuvers.
The South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff said in a statement today that the South Korean Armed Forces have strengthened their monitoring in anticipation of new launches.
The statement indicated that the missiles were launched from the vicinity of Sariwon in North Hwanghae Province, adding that Seoul is closely exchanging information with the United States and Japan while strengthening monitoring.
