Young girl dies due to malnutrition in Gaza

GAZA, Sept. 07 (YPA) – A young girl from Khan Younis in southern Gaza died today due to severe malnutrition and inadequate medical care, the Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, reported on Saturday.

Medical sources stated that the girl, Yaqin al-Asṭal, died as a result of both malnutrition and dehydration amidst a severe shortage of supplies.

This brings the number of children who have died due to malnutrition to 37 since the beginning of the Israeli genocide campaign against Gaza.

On Friday, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), reported that more than 50,000 children in Gaza are suffering from acute malnutrition, warning that the humanitarian situation in the region has become “beyond catastrophic.”

Residents of the Gaza Strip are facing unprecedented famine and a humanitarian and health crisis due to the ongoing devastating Israeli war since October 7.

This situation persists despite international calls and demands from the International Court of Justice to halt the conflict and permit the delivery of aid to the besieged area.
