YPC: Coalition detains new fuel ship

SANAA, May 21 (YPA) – The Yemeni Petroleum Company (YPC) in Sanaa on Friday announced that the Saudi-led coalition had detained a new fuel ship named “Pericles” and prevented it from reaching the port of Hodeidah.

The company’s spokesman, Essam al-Mutawakel, said in a tweet that “the US-Saudi-led coalition seized the “ Pericles” ship, carrying 30,597 tons of diesel and prevented it from reaching the port of Hodeidah, despite it having been inspected and having obtained an entry permit from the United Nations.

He called on the international community, humanitarian and international organizations to put pressure on the  coalition to abide by the  UN-declared truce and release oil derivatives vessels.
