SANAA, Jan. 15 (YPA) – Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf on Tuesday met in Sanaa with Executive Director of Danish Refugee Council Christian Friis Bach and his accompanying delegation.
The meeting discussed the Danish Council’s activities in the humanitarian and development fields, as well as the results of the Executive Director’s visit to the province and the port of Hodeidah.
Bach confirmed the council’s commitment to send a strong message to the international community on the need to ensure the continuation of the Hodeidah port activity as it is a lifeline for Yemenis. He referred to the repercussions and humanitarian challenges that have faced Yemenis and doubled their suffering.
At the meeting, Sharaf urged the visiting delegation to double efforts to contribute to alleviate the suffering of Yemenis, especially the displaced.
The minister stressed the importance of full coordination to achieve effective results according to realistic indicators regarding the targeted areas where the displaced are located.
He confirmed that the political leadership is keen to facilitate the humanitarian workers efforts to alleviate the effects of the humanitarian disaster and to establish steady steps towards sustainable peace.
