Saudi Arabia threatens Washington to sell oil in Chinese yuan

SANAA, Oct. 14 (YPA) – Manager of Saudi-owned Al Arabiya satellite TV channel on Sunday threatened the United States to break off diplomatic relations over President’s Trump’s blackmail against Saudi royal family, vowing to cement relations with Iran and Russia instead, as well as selling oil in Chinese yuan.

Turki Aldakhil’s remarks came in an article he wrote on the TV website in response to what he said Trupm’s blackmail to sanction Saudi Arabia over the killing of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

He said Trump’s threats would force Riyadh to break off diplomatic relation with Washington and re-establish relations with Iran and allow a Russian military base in the northwestern Saudi province of Tabuk.

” Any sanctions imposed by the US against Saudi Arabia may led to an economic catastrophe that would affect the whole world,” Aldakhil said in reference to his country’s oil production, threatening that Riyadh could decrease the quantity of selling oil in dollar.

The Saudi official said Riyadh may plan to sell its oil in Chinese yuan currency instead of dollar.
