Death toll among Egyptian pilgrims rises to 39

SANAA, Aug. 23 (YPA) – The Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population announced on Thursday that two cases of Egyptian pilgrims have died in Saudi territory, bringing the total number of deaths to 39.

Dr. Khalid Mujahid, spokesman of the Ministry, said that the deceased pilgrims died after a sharp drop in blood circulation and respiratory in the holy lands and they were transferred to hospitals.

The emergency room of the medical mission in Mecca received a notification of death, and is currently coordinating with the competent authorities to get death certificates, Dr. Mujahid added.

A delegation from the Hajj medical mission inspected the health condition of the Egyptian pilgrims held in Mina Emergency Hospital, according to the spokesman.
