Yemen’s air defenses to down more enemy planes: Army spokesman

SANAA – A senior Defense Ministry official on Sunday declared a new escalation in the war against the US-Saudi military aggression after targeting the combat aircraft while flying over Saada province.

“The air defenses have now become able to target and shoot down the enemy planes as Sunday’s shooting down the fighter Tornado is considered a strategic victory against the aggression coalition,” the army spokesman Aziz Rashid said in a statement.

“More planes will be downed,” Rashid warned.

Earlier on the day, the Yemeni air defenses shot down a warplane of the US-backed Saudi-led military aggression coalition over the Yemeni northern province of Saada, the army and popular forces said in a statement, obtained by Yemen Press Agency.

The plane is British-made Tornado, read the statement.
