13 militants killed in Pakistan in foiled infiltration attempts across Afghanistan border

ISLAMABAD, May 01 (YPA) – Pakistani security forces announced on Friday the killing of thirteen armed militants during the thwarting of two infiltration attempts along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, in the north of the country.

In a statement carried by Pakistani media, security forces said that field troops detected the movements of a group of armed militants as they attempted to infiltrate across the border in the Mohmand district and engaged them directly, resulting in the killing of eight of them in what they described as a precise and well-executed operation.

They explained that in another clash, the forces managed to thwart a second infiltration attempt by a similar group along the border in the North Waziristan district, and five militants were neutralized after a heavy exchange of fire.
