Iran, Russia discuss regional tensions, condemn use of force amid escalation

MOSCOW, March 26 |(YPA) – Iran’s Ambassador to Moscow, Kazem Jalali, met with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov to discuss developments surrounding what Iran described as US-Israeli military actions against it.

According to Iran’s Tasnim news agency, the talks on Thursday covered the latest regional and international developments, as well as nuclear-related issues.

During the meeting, Jalali condemned unjustified attacks by the United States and Israeli occupation on Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, describing them as violations of international law.

He also accused the attackers of targeting civilian sites, including a school in Minab, and other medical, educational, cultural, and historical facilities, saying such actions reflected disregard for humanitarian principles and human rights.

Ryabkov, for his part, expressed condolences to the Iranian government and people over reported casualties, including officials and civilians. He reiterated Russia’s stance opposing the use of force over diplomatic solutions, according to Tasnim.

The two sides also stressed the importance of continued consultations at various levels to address what they described as challenges to international peace and security.
