Over 80 int’l organizations call for ending trade with Israeli settlements

GAZA, Sept. 15 (YPA) – More than 80 international organizations, including Oxfam and the Human Rights League, called on countries and companies, particularly European ones, on Monday to end all forms of commercial dealings with Israeli settlements in the West Bank.

This came in a joint report titled “Trade with Illegal Settlements: How foreign states and companies enable Israel to implement its illegal settlement policy.”

The report emphasized that the continued operations of some foreign companies and institutions within the settlements directly contribute to the worsening humanitarian crisis resulting from the long-term Israeli occupation.

The report called on states, particularly members of the European Union and the United Kingdom, to impose an explicit ban on any commercial or investment activity related to settlements, including the provision of services and financing.

He also called for preventing financial institutions from providing loans to companies involved in projects within the settlements.
