PARIS, May 20 (YPA) – French President Emmanuel Macron said the level of humanitarian suffering in the Gaza Strip has reached “unbearable levels.”
Macron said in a post on X: “We strongly oppose the expansion of Israeli military operations in the Strip. The level of humanitarian suffering in Gaza is unbearable.”
Referring to the conference on the Palestinian issue to be held in New York on June 18, Macron emphasized the need to work within this framework toward a two-state solution.
Macron also shared in the post a joint statement signed by his country, the United Kingdom, and Canada calling on Israel to immediately halt its attacks on Gaza.
Earlier Monday evening, Britain, France, and Canada issued a joint statement calling for an end to the war, the entry of humanitarian aid, and the recognition of a Palestinian state.
