Angry popular uprising cuts off main streets of Aden

ADEN, April 27 (YPA) – Angry local demonstrations broke out in the city of Aden, which is under the control of the Saudi-led coalition in southern Yemen, due to the continuing power outage for approximately 20 hours a day.

Hundreds of angry young people went out yesterday evening, Saturday, in the Sheikh Othman and Al-Mansoura areas to protest the continued power outage, and they blocked the main streets with stones and burning tires.

A state of popular discontent prevails in Aden and the rest of the southern provinces with the increasing number of hours of power outages, in addition to the collapse of the living situation as a result of the selling price of the dollar exceeding more than 2,520 riyals, without any significant economic reforms by the government loyal to the coalition.

Demonstrations and protests demanding the dismissal of the “pro-coalition government” and an end to the economic collapse and the deterioration of basic services are expected to continue in Aden, Lahj, and Hadramout in the coming days.
