BEIRUT, April 01 (YPA) – Lebanon’s Hezbollah mourned on Tuesday one of its leader, who was targeted in an Israeli airstrike on the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital Beirut.
Hezbollah said in a statement that Hassan Ali Badir, a military commander, was martyred along with his son Ali Hassan, in an Israeli airstrike that targeted the southern suburbs.
For his part, Hezbollah MP Ibrahim al-Moussawi described the Israeli raid as a “very large aggression,” calling on the Lebanese state to take urgent action to ensure the safety of its citizens.
In a statement to reporters near the targeted building, al-Moussawi said: “What happened was a very large aggression, and the Lebanese authorities must act with the highest level of effectiveness, hold the international community accountable for the the Israeli occupation’s violations.
This escalation came at a time of increasing tensions between the occupying entity and Hezbollah, amid growing fears of an escalation of confrontations in the region.
