SANAA, Dec. 10 (YPA) – Activists demonstrated in front of the United Nations building in New York on the anniversary of the UN’s adoption of the “Genocide” Convention in 1948, calling on the countries of the world to pressure the Zionist entity to stop the genocide against the Palestinian people as soon as possible, and to declare a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
A number of activists boycotted the participating delegations and representatives of countries while they were attending the annual celebration marking the International Day of Commemoration and Dignity of the Victims of Genocide, and demanded that they stop issuing statements and take urgent action to stop the genocide in the Gaza Strip.
After the activists’ sit-in in front of the United Nations, students from Barnard and Columbia Universities participated in the streets of New York, in solidarity with the students against the repression they are being subjected to by their university administrations as a result of their positions supporting the Palestinian cause and their continued demand for the necessity of severing relations with the usurping Zionist entity.
The United Nations celebrates on December 9th of each year the International Day of Commemoration and Dignity of the Victims of the Crime of Genocide and of the Prevention of this Crime.
