LJUBLJANA, Oct. 15 (YPA) – Slovenia’s Foreign Minister, Tanja Fajon, called for holding Israeli occupation’s officials involved in the usurpation of Palestinian lands through the use of violence accountable.
This came in a news conference she made on Monday on the sidelines of a meeting of European Union foreign ministers in Luxembourg, to discuss developments in the Middle East and Ukraine.
“My country, which officially recognized the State of Palestine last June, is working to stop the ongoing Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, and to provide protection to civilians and deliver humanitarian aid to them,” Fajon said.
The Slovenian minister denounced the occupation’s attacks on Gaza, calling for sanctions against “Israeli politicians who violate international law and usurp Palestinian territory using violence.”
She called on an immediate halt to Israeli attacks on the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), and for protection to be provided to the UN force.
Fajon considered that the occupation’s attacks on the UNIFIL a violation of international law, and fall within the scope of a “serious crime.”
