Russia warns Zionist entity against launching ground attack on Gaza

MOSCOW, Oct. 17 (YPA) – Russia warned on Tuesday the Israeli government against launching a ground attack on the Gaza Strip.

Russian media quoted Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov as saying “There is a threat of expansion of the conflict in the Middle East. This will have horrific repercussions on the entire region, and may lead to the outbreak of a larger humanitarian catastrophe.”

The Kremlin said that Russian President Vladimir Putin intends to discuss the situation in the Middle East with Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the Belt and Road Forum.

According to the sources, Putin expressed his concern about a catastrophic increase in the number of civilian casualties in the Gaza Strip, considering the Israeli aggression on Gaza and the killing and wounding of civilians unacceptable, and stressed that “the Palestinian people have the right to establish their state.

Putin spoke by phone with a number of Middle Eastern leaders yesterday, Monday, calling for an end to military operations to protect civilians.
