SANAA, Sept. 15 (YPA) – The National Meteorology Center expected, on Friday, rain of varying intensity, accompanied by thunderstorm and hail in a number of provinces during the next 24 hours.
In its weather forecast, the center predicted a cloudy weather accompanied by rain of varying intensity over parts of the provinces of Hajjah, Mahweet, Raymah, Dhamar, Ibb, Taiz, Dhalea, Lahj and Tihama Plain.
According to the center, scattered rains may be accompanied by thunderstorms to hit parts of provinces of Saada, Amran, Sanaa, Bayda, Shabwa, Abyan, Hadramout and the southern and western coasts.
The center expected that the weather will be hot to very hot in the deserts and interior plateaus, with maximum temperatures ranging between 38-43 degrees Celsius, while the coastal areas, may witness hot and humid weather, with maximum temperatures ranging between 33-40 degrees Celsius.
It also expected that active to very strong winds around the Socotra archipelago, ranging in speed between 20-35 knots, and moderate and active winds around the southern, eastern coasts, the Gulf of Aden and the entrance to Bab al-Mandeb, ranging in speed between 10-20 knots, causing turbulences over the sea
The center called on citizens not to be in valleys and torrent passages in areas where rain is expected, to take shelter from thunderstorms, and not to use mobile phones.
It also called on fishermen and seagoers to take the necessary precautions against sea turbulence and high waves around the Socotra archipelago, the southern and eastern coasts, and the entrance to Bab al-Mandab.
