Senior officer assassinated in Taiz

TAIZ, Aug 14 (YPA) – One of officers assigned to investigate the case of the assassination of the UN official, Moayad Hamidi, was killed on Tuesday by unknown gunmen in the city of Taiz.

Local sources in Taiz city said that the officer, Adnan Al-Muhya, who serves in the Criminal Investigation Department in the city, was killed while leaving his house in Al-Jahmaliya neighborhood in the center of the city.

Although the Islah Party authorities, which control the city of Taiz, announced on July 21,2023 that they would explained the details of the assassination of the UN official, they suspiciously kept secret about the facts of the crime.

The coalition forces-held areas have witnessed a state of great security chaos for the past weeks, in which murders and assassinations have escalated, which led to killing and wounding many innocent people, including children, women, and pioneers of humanitarian and relief work as part of the liquidation war between the armed factions loyal to the coalition in Taiz.
